Everyone has had it and wished they hadn't. That strange emanation that wafts through the house suddenly that closely resembles a cross between cat urine and dead babies. Yes, my friends, I'm talking about mystery smell.
Last week I got a small hint of said smell, and like any normal person would, I looked around to find the source. I followed the fragrance and found no origin, which is probably scarier then the scent itself. The next day I followed the same track and again came to no avail. I repeated this process several times(at least 10) as the stink was becoming more and more pronouced and had no luck what-so-ever, that is until today.
When I got home from work today the smell was so bad that it made me retch. I searched and I searched and couldn't find anything. As I ran into the bathroom to vomit, by chance, I turned my head and saw the birthplace of the atrocious odor.
Beside the freezer we keep extra plastic shopping bags. A top this moutain of cellulose baggage sat the curse of my olfactory senses...a bag of formally frozen peas.
As estatic as I was to find the cause of the smell, I dreaded having to get rid of it. What if the substance that was formally peas managed to leak on my person? What if moving the mangled mess somehow made the stench worse? What if it was just really really icky and made me barf?
Alas, I managed to dispose of the vile substance and even now the smell is slowly dispersing(well with a little help from my newest best friend).
I hope I have totally horrified you enough for one day(or more).
Good Night.

Baby Steps...
After what I wrote yesterday I found a version of Linux that operates a lot like Windows. So what I've done is set up a dual boot machine. When you have dual boot, you can choose which operating system you wish to use. If you want to boot into Windows, then you boot into Windows. If you want Linux, then boom, Linux. It's pretty cool and I think this will allow me to learn the new system without losing what I already know. This particular version of Linux, Xandros, is really user friendly and basically holds your hand and walks you through everything you need. There's still a lot about Linux that I don't understand, so doing this will enable me to learn little by little, taking baby steps along the way.
Tonight is the Royal Rumble. The Rumble match has always been my favorite WWE PPV and match, and I'm hoping that tonight is no different. We shall see.
I'll get around to talk about my comics sooner or later, but not today. I think the whole Linux talk was enough nerdiness to keep everyone occupied for a little bit. :-p
Well it's time for the Rumble.

Linux: To Make the Switch or Not?
Today I did something that I've wanted to do for a very long time.
I met this guy that is like a computer god. He makes me look like a complete novice(and if you were to ask any of my friends, that's saying a lot). We got to talking about tech/computer stuff like any good computer nerds do, and I asked him about Linux.
Linux, to those of you that don't know, is a different operating system and to those of you that don't know what an operating system is (I'm talking to you, Peggy) it's what makes your computer do what your computer does, i.e. Windows. There are a lot of benefits to Linux, supposedly it's very tight with security so the chances of getting hacked or getting viruses is very limited or none existent, there's a ton of support available(Linux users are all about sharing information) and the biggest advantage: it's almost completely open source, meaning it's all free. Anything you can think of is available for no cost.
There's only one real reason not to switch: compatibility. We live in a Windows' World and everything is built to run on it. While Linux has just about evrything you can think of, it doesn't have everything, and thats a problem. Just ask Mac users what a pain it is.
So anyway, this guy gave me a boot disk called Knoppix STD. It's a bootable version of Linux, that doesn't screw around with your Windows settings. So, for the first time ever, I booted up Linux today. It's pretty cool. I still don't know if I would switch completely, but I'm not afraid of it anymore and that was a pretty big part of why I didn't want to switch.
So now I'm going to go back and screw around with it somemore. If you aren't scared, give it a try.

Soon The Circle Will Be Complete...
Hello...
Today is a GREAT day. Wanna know why? Do ya? C'mon, I know you do. Well I'm not going to tell you. Ha Ha, you suck!
Ok I'm lying.
Today is GREAT because...
Wait for it...
It's coming...
Starwars.com has the opening text for the next Star Wars movie!!! YAY!!! I am SO excited!!!
I know, I know...Phantom Menace sucked and Attack of the Clones was sh!tty and Star Wars has forever been ruined in your eyes and...You know what? F*CK YOU! Star Wars still rules. I don't give a damn what anyone else thinks about it. I f*cking LOVE Star Wars and I will forever and everytime there's something new about Star Wars, I get legitimately excited about it and you little piss ants that bitch and moan about it drive me retarded. You aren't 6 anymore so the feeling you got watching the first Trilogy isn't ever going to happen again (now watch either of the movies listed above with a 6 year old and tell me what happens). Deal with it. I don't understand how a movie that doesn't live up to your expectations can forever ruin what was(to many my age) a genuine EXPERIENCE. Seeing Star Wars as a kid wasn't going to see some movie, it was something you'll never forget. I truly charish the memory of seeing A New Hope for the first time and nothing could ever happen that will tarnish that. So don't b!tch, be happy!
Ok end rant...
So the new text that will be scrolling accross a movie screen near you on May 19, 2005 has been revealed...
Man, this movie is going to kick ass!

PS: Just as an aside...I LOVE PHANTOM MENACE and ATTACK OF THE CLONES!!!

Luthor's Pick
Does this sound familiar? How about this? My personal favorite...this one?
If any of those were the least bit recognizable then chances are you were a Nintendo Entertainment System(NES) owner. In the days of my youth, Nintendo was the only way to go. Sure there was the Atari 2600 or the Sega Master System, but all the cool kids had the NES. With hundreds of games, more accessories then were humanly possible (C'mon, the Power Glove? How cool was that?), cartoons and even a movie, the NES was THE video game console of the time.
Now I know what you're thinking, what does a 20 year old(yes it's been 20 years, how old does that make you feel?) video game system have to do with Luthor's Pick? The answer is simple...
EVERY VIDEO GAME.COM
Everyvideogame.com hosts just about any NES game you can think of. Super Mario Bros.? CHECK! Metroid? Ditto! Kid Icarus? Yeah, you guessed it...THERE! When I first discovered this site I played for nearly 4 hours. You simply use your keyboard as your controller. All the games listed are actual versions of the games. I played Contra and used the Konami code(up up down down left right left right b a start) and got the 30 lives. This site is so kick ass you won't be able to control yourself.
If you spent your childhood days trying to save the princess then you NEED to check this out.
Enjoy!

Yes Virginia, There is a Superbowl...
For NFL Football fans, this time of year has a special magic. If the NFL season is like a story, then Superbowl is the climatic end and the outcome is never predictable. Will our heroes win? Can the underdog rule the day? Who will receive the ultimate reward? Who will be left sulking back to thier domain plotting for the next season to begin? and, most important of all, Who's going to Disney Land? My friends, our 2004 chapter will come to its conclusion in less then 2 weeks. The Philly Eagles will play the New England Patriots in Superbowl XXXIX on Febuary 6, 2005.
Most people are calling for the Pats to win BIG. Some have hopes that the Eagles will take home the Trophy. Personally, I think it's going to be a really good tight game. I see it going one of two ways. It's either going to be a high scoring offensive thrill ride or it's going to be all about the D's. Either way, it's something I can't wait for. At one point, not too long ago, I thought that any NFC team wouldn't stand a chance. I don't feel too much differently now. I think the Pats will take the big one home again and earn thier spot as a true dynasty in the NFL.
Versus
Patriots 37 - 24

Goodbye Johnny...
Hi,
Short post today.
I was truly saddened to hear of the passing of Johnny Carson. Carson was a guy I always thought was really cool while I was growing up and someone who I respect deeply. My thoughts are with those that knew him personally, although anyone that watched the Tonight Show during his reign most certainly feel like they do as well.
"I bid you a very heartfelt good night." - Johnny Carson May 22, 1992.

Snow, Snow and More Snow...
I don't think I've ever seen this much snow in Windsor in my life. It has been snowing none stop all day, and most of the night last night. Windsor usually gets one big storm a year and maybe a little bit here and there. This year we've had at least three big storms. I like cold weather, but I don't like snow.
Moving on...
I really enjoy the web blogs hosted by former/current Tech TV personalities. Here's a list of my favorites:
Kevin Rose
Sarah Lane
Alex Albrecht
Dan Huard, Dan also has his own Tech/Computer site called Scopetech
Cat Swartz, Cat's also very hot, just as an aside
Joey the Intern
Leo Laporte
I'm sure there are others, but these are the only ones that I go to frequently. Check them out and enjoy.

Post BCW...
Welp...didn't get to meet Mick, I was too lazy to wait in line to meet Sabu(Sean got his ECW DVD signed though, so thats cool) and I wasn't thinking or else I would have waited to meet Petey Williams, Bobby Roode and Jimmy Hart. Jimmy was a childhood favorite and I would have liked to have gotten my picture taken with him.
BCW really knows how to run an indy show in a semi large venue. My friend Cory is a manager at Ciociaro Club, and he said that the seating was well over 1000 people. I haven't been to many indy shows, but I do know that most would kill for that kind of a turnout.
Some of the matches were stinkers, but overall it was an A+ show. I have been a growing fan of Abyss from TNA for quite some time now, and I think tonight he put me over the top. He knows how to have a really good match and how to tell a really good story. If Dusty knew what he was doing he'd make the Monster his main heel and have some faces(AJ, The Truth, Monty Brown{who I hate by the way}) chasing the title from him(with maybe James Mitchell as his voice).
Mick is always entertaining. There's a reason he is as loved as he is and tonight he showed why.
If you live in the Windsor Area, really think about attending a BCW show.

Luthor's Pick
This week's Luthor's Pick is one of my all time movies repackaged, so full of new stuff that they had to expand it into a three disc set. That movie is...
Clerks is one of my all time favorite movies and this repackaging of it is brilliant. The first DVD has the feature, plus several added bonuses like MTV shorts featuring Jay and Silent Bob. The second DVD features the original cut of the film(seen at the Sundance Film Festival) and an all new commentary featuring Kevin Smith(Director, Writer and Silent Bob), Jason Mewes(Jay), Jeff Anderson(Randal), Brian O'Halloran(Dante) and Scott Mosier(Producer and several different parts). The third DVD is definately the crown jewel in this collection. It features Kevin and Scott's first film work, the short documentary Mae Day: The Crumbling of a Documentary as well as The Snowball Effect: The Story of Clerks(which chronicles the making of Clerks and where it has taken all the players since).
I absolutely love Clerks and this presentation of it is better then any previously available. If you like to laugh and enjoy "slacker" mentality then this is THE movie you must see.

Random Thoughts...
Greetings...
Why did we all think Nene Cherry was so cool? Has anyone ever watched the video for Buffalo Stance?
I'm not a fan of the heat, but I wish it wasn't this cold!
Shawn Michaels is a tool.
Speaking of which, wouldn't you love to hear something new from Maynard and the boys?
Why haven't you switched to Firefox yet? You know you want to.
No really, why did we like Buffalo Stance?
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is a brilliant film.
I think Watchmen should be required reading for anyone that wants to be a writer.
If you're American and feel like being charitable, how about getting me a Mini Mac?
Where have all the good people gone?
Does anybody read this?
Ha! Didn't put any links in that last one! I rule.
Work still sucks.
Is there anything more annoying then a person that is MORE nerdier then you?
Luthor's Pick will be up tomarrow...if you're lucky.

2nd post...more hmm's to come
Good Day to you,
Well today was Monday...I don't know if there is a more cruel thing then a Monday morning. Waking up at the buttcrack of dawn blows goats, waking up at the buttcrack of dawn on a Monday is hurtful and blows goats. I got lucky today though. My boss decided to call in sick. So, luckily, I got to work in the office. It's so f*cking cold here right now, and working in the office is definately a good thing.
So the divisonal playoffs are set:
AFC - New England Patriots at Pittsburgh Steelers...
I love the Steelers, but after the stomping that Tom and the boys gave Payton and his Colts, I just don't see it happening.
Score: 35 - 14 Pats
NFC - Atlanta Falcons at Philadelphia Eagles...
Who really cares at this points? I mean the AFC is the division that everyone has been watching this year...but if I have to...McNabb goes yard...lots. Mister Vick is left weeping at the force of the crushing Philly D.
Score: 27 - 3 Eagles
Well I think thats all for today.

First Post....hmmm
I'm sitting here watching TNA's PPV and I think...Hey why not make a blog! This is where I realize I have no life.
I've never done a blog before so you'll have to excuse me if I break blog etiquette. I figure since I've never done this I should probably tell a little about myself. The words nerd and geek are often used and are probably very accurate. I love all things geeky...wrestling ...video games ...and most of all comic books. I'm 28, although I wish I wasn't. I listen to a lot of music, but not nearly as much as I did when I was younger and cooler. Kevin Smith is my hero. I smoke Du Maurier and drink Budwieser. Tech stuff makes me do things...crazy things. I hate my job. I wiz at a telnet talker called Magic Kingdom. Not sure what else to put here, but when I think of something I'll let you know.
This ppv is kinda of cruddy...but it beats trying to think of random things to write about myself. If you have anything you want to know...ask!
I'll try to keep this updated as often as I think of something to say...

Well the Ultimate X match was pretty friggin' cool. Styles, Sabin and Williams are what I think the future of wrestling is.
